DAY 6 INSIGHTS FROM THE NOVEL “IF WITCHES WERE HORSES” A Novel Written by : Kolade Segun-Okeowo

TOPIC : NATIONS RISE AND FALL WITH LEADERS !!!

BIBLE VERSE: When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the wicked beareth rule, the people mourn.
Proverbs 29:2

The institution of Kingship and all government leadership positions are sacred. Not only because God directs us to obey and pray for them, but also because they determine the direction at which the community of men moves at every time. Therefore, when the blind leads the blind; falling into a ditch is inevitable.

Oba Folagbade, ignorant and confused, is leading a whole town into deeper error even as he himself slips down the valley of religious despondency and mental decadence.

This is why we must pay deep attention to the emergency of those who become our leaders both in the traditional realm and the political plane. Not just anybody should emerge as leader. Kings, Local Government Chairmen, Legislators, Governors and Presidents don’t just lead, they actually determine the destiny of the nations.

Shying away from the choice of leaders does not immune you from the consequences of the negative actions of such leaders. This explains why we all must be actively interested and participate in the electoral process at different levels of involvement; the least being to vote during elections.

When, we fail in the choice of right leaders, we run the risk of being subjected to the consequences of their wrong actions. Thank God for the power of prayers which is capable of turning the hearts of leaders like streams of water. However, it is better that the right people occupy positions of leadership rather than the wrong people, causing us to pray emergency prayers of despair, courtesy of their misplaced priorities and destructive tendencies.

Leaders determine destinies of nations !!!
