DAY 10 INSIGHTS FROM “IF WITCHES WERE HORSES”A Novel Written By: Kolade Segun-Okeowo (KSO)

BIBLE VERSE: Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you” Luke 10:19 (KJV)

We cannot imagine the awesome power deposited in us until we are challenged by contrary situations and circumstances. A young man jumped down from a three storey building and continued running afterwards as he escaped from armed robbers who invaded his family home. Not until he steered clear of danger zone that he felt the pain of his sprained ankles that left him in the hospital for weeks.

When asked how he jumped the height of three-storey building, he said the only thing he could think of at that moment was safety. The danger forced out the power inside of him.

The power that God has deposited in us requires challenges to manifest. For all the years Morakinyo spent in the city, I doubt if he ever needed to lay hands on anyone for healing (Oh, the Pastors are available to do that anyway) But now, being left face to face with a raw demand for the supernatural (with no Pastor in sight) the reservoir of power in him came alive.

We all need such challenges to bring out the power in us. Many are times we have chickened away from such situations because we are sacred that the power in us may not work. How wrong we are to think that way. The supernatural power in any child of God can confront sicknesses, disease and even death.

However, we need to remember that the power in us belongs to Him who regulates the flow. Never should we assume it ever belonged to us. Therefore, we need not be ashamed if and when the Owner of The Power decides not to release the flow at any point in time. The Glory belongs to Him always.
