TOPIC: DESPERATION IS A TRAP (EPISODE ELEVEN)
BIBLE VERSE: Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man: but every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed. James 1: 13-14 (KJV)
Every man has need, even the rich also cry. But some wear their problems as clothes; their looks show they have problems. They always think others are better than them. Even when it does not show in their countenance, their hearts are clouded with the smoke of what they don’t have. They never value what they have, it is what they don’t have that dictates how they feel.
The Bible says our adversary, the devil is like a roaring lion, looking for whom to devour. The devil is roaming around us as Christians looking for our unguided hours and times when we are desperate for our desires. To every original, there is a counterfeit. Whenever the devil sees our desperation, he brings his own counterfeit. Desperation hinders us from hearing from God or prevents us from seeing the red lights that God is showing us
Three sisters were jolly good friends. Two of them got married at short intervals, leaving sister B who had to answer a lot of questions from friends and family why she was not married at her age. All these got her into a stage of desperation. She made up her mind to give herself to any man that comes her way.
The devil saw that loophole and pushed a fake brother to her. The young man was highly temperamental. He slaps and beats her up at every slightest provocation. She was counseled to walk out of the relationship, but she was too desperate to think straight. She wanted marriage at all cost. Desperation is capable of blocking your views and deafening your ears. That desperation was the undoing of Morakinyo in this story.
Sister B eventually got married to the young man but was unfortunately beaten to death by her husband, seven months into the marriage. Never be in desperation for any reason. God will make all things beautiful at His own time. Wait on Him.
