DAY 14 INSIGHTS FROM “IF WITCHES WERE HORSES”A NOVEL WRITTEN BY: Kolade Segun-Okeowo (KSO)

TOPIC: LOOSE IT TO GET IT (EPISODE FOURTEEN)

BIBLE VERSE: He that loveth his life shall lose it; and he that hateth his life in this world shall keep it unto eternal life. 26 If any man serve me, let him follow me; and where I am, there shall also my servant be: if any man serve me, him will my father honour. John 12:26 (KJV)

Gbayike got it wrong from the beginning. She wanted to keep her job, her pride and her position. She was convinced about Morakinyo, but… how about what she was holding on to? How will she leave her present position? Change is the only constant thing in life but human beings are always afraid of this constant thing… CHANGE !!!

The life of a man does not consist of the abundance of what he has. The houses you built on earth and the cars you ride do not count before God but the lives you have been able to impact. Building mansions is good, wealth acquisition is great but the best of all you can build are men. Build men!

Many sisters have got it all wrong. They size up any brother that comes their way for marriage, using their own set standards. They check him out: what does he have? “No television? He doesn’t even have a car! I can’t marry him” Who told you he will not have all and more than all these in the nearest future. In the process of trying to protect themselves, they end up destroying their lives.

A distraught woman who was not able to pay her children school fees once told her story to my wife amidst tears. She had missed it at the point of choosing a life partner. Several young men asked for her hand in marriage, but she turned them down on the basis of “I cannot suffer in part one and suffer in part two” According to her, part one is life before marriage while after wedlock is part two. So, she shone her eyes and got married to a young well-to-do-politician!!!

Few years into their marriage, all the young man had as possession was gone. Life became very tough for them, such that they could not afford to pay their children school bills. What she tried to escape from, eventually came her way.

God who is leading you to follow a path can never leave you alone. Any path He leads you to is the path of glory, never hesitate to follow.

  1. Very insightful sir… We live at a time that ladies and so called Christian sisters take the issue of marriage partner with the eyes in their heads rather than the eyes of their spirit.
    Thank grace sir.
