TOPIC: THE THIEF (EPISODE NINETEEN)
BIBLE VERSE: The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. John 10:10 (KJV)
The devil is a wicked devil. He is in the habit of coating destructions in beautiful wrappings. When we see it, we are tempted to think it’s the best we can ever get on earth. Lanre thought he had arrived. He believed being a cult member was all he needed; he didn’t know that he has just gotten bait to his destruction. Poor him!
The devil is an enemy with three fold ministry; stealing, killing and destroying. Only in Jesus can a man have peace. There is a vacuum in man that God himself had created. He is the only one that can fill it. The vacuum manifests in different ways. One of the ways through which the vacuum yearns for filling is through fears and lack of peace. Lanre should have run to Jesus, and that would have settled his case but instead, he ran to the devil. At first, it appeared he actually had that peace but it all ended in disaster. The devil succeeded over Lanre soul to steal, kill, and destroy when he himself handed it over to devil by becoming a cult member.
Hagatha (Betty Campbell) continued with the work of her master. Imagine how dedicated she worked on campus. Some children of God are not dedicated to the things of God but do things shabbily. All children of God must learn from this. Betty was also busy initiating young girls into her Kingdom: a brand of evangelism!!! However, there are some sets of people she could not initiate through her gifts: the born again Christians!
To be born again is the best favour you can do to yourself so as to be delivered from the manipulations of the devil. If you are reading this reflection now, I encourage you to take the step of faith by giving your life to Christ.
